Dana L. Wooley was born at a very early age into the seventh generation of one North Texas family (Collin and Dallas counties), and the fifth generation of another (Ellis and Dallas counties). He was born and raised in Oak Cliff, where he attended Dallas public schools.
He served as ROTC Battalion Commander and ROTC Drill Team Commander at David W Carter HS. He became the first male on either side of his family to attain a college degree, in his case a BA in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Texas at Arlington (which had a football team then, although they played in a baseball stadium). He was an active member of the Oak Cliff Chapter of the Order of DeMolay, which he served in local, district, and state leadership positions.
He married another Oak Cliff native, who gave him three children. Alas, the marriage ended, but all three children were graduated from Duncanville High School and two from the University of Texas at Arlington. His two sons both live in the area (but not in the Best Southwest). His MBA/CPA daughter and nine year old granddaughter live in Cedar Hill, just blocks away from his own home.
His intended profession was law. Dana was accepted into the Texas Tech law school shortly before the third rabbit died, but was thereafter sidetracked. He worked seven years as a child abuse investigator for the State of Texas in Dallas County before becoming a programmer for the City of Dallas after attending its intensive training program. Thus started a now 30 year information technology career in both public and private sectors as applications programmer, systems programmer, operations manager, technical support manager, data center director, and now Head Honcho and chief logician at The Texian eBusiness Ltd Co, founded in 2007.

Dana was a founding member of the local BNI chapter, and served two consecutive terms as President. He is also a member and President of the Cedar Hill Lions Club and President of the Cedar Hill Lions Club Charities, Inc. His interests include the study of the military campaigns of the US Civil War, particularly in the Eastern Theater. He has visited and toured every major battlefield (and most minor ones) in the east, as well as a number of western theater locales. He numbers among his friends several of the leading Civil War "talking heads" of the History Channel, who are renowned authors and National Park Service and academic historians. About 20% of his 2500+ volume library are Civil War titles.
