DeSoto, TX - Leadership is not something that is simply taught, it must be modeled.  I am grateful that on my journey as a public servant, I was afforded the opportunity to witness the epitome of leadership, the late Mayor Curtistene S McCowan.

Her untimely death has left big shoes to fill here in the City of DeSoto.

There is still more work to be done. Her passing not only left a hole in our hearts but it also has left a mayoral vacancy.

I am dedicated to the healing and progression of our community.

DeSoto is a place I’ve called home since the 3rd grade. Although my position with city leadership changed last year - my passion to see this community be better did not.

I have decided to once again, pursue the office of Mayor of the city of DeSoto.

My official paperwork was filed yesterday and I am ready to get back to work.

Words can’t adequately express my gratitude for the support you all have shown me over the years & I thank you in advance for your support & prayers at this time.

RachelForDeSoto.com will be LIVE soon. My website will serve as the central hub where you will be able to get details on my platform and my vision, sign up to volunteer, find event information, donate and much more.

Until then, feel free to reach out to me directly if you want to be a part of the team.

I am eager to serve you as we work together in moving DeSoto forward!
