DeSoto, TX - DeSoto’s Electric Provider Oncor informed us early this morning that the rolling power outages have been discontinued in our region. Oncor reports that DeSoto has approximately 150 accounts that are still without power, but this number is down significantly from the past few days.
You may see reports about other cities needing to issue boil orders or severe restrictions for water usage, but that is not the case in DeSoto. DeSoto’s overall water quality and pressure continue to meet industry standards. While we encourage residents to do what you can to conserve water, DeSoto’s water system is safe to use.
A limited number of residents may experience temporary water service interruptions due to isolated breaks as they are being repaired. If water is not flowing at your home, the most likely cause at this point is a frozen pipe. Tips for preventing and addressing frozen pipes are available on the City’s website. You can also contact the City of DeSoto Public Utilities Line 24/7 at 972-230-9627.
If any DeSoto residents need a warm space or temporary accommodations the City of DeSoto DeSoto’s warming & overnight shelter remains open at Faith Bible Church, 1437 W Pleasant Run Rd, DeSoto. For further information about the shelter contact (972) 358-0861.
