DeSoto, TX - The Senior Activity Center will open on June 14 with the temporary hours of 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday at 75% capacity. At this time the center will close at 1:00 pm due to compliance with Dallas County’s meal program guidelines.

With these measures in place, the Senior Center can be confident that there is no possibility of jeopardizing the integrity of the meal operations for home delivered meals and drive through meal pick up at the center.

The Dining Hall will remain closed for congregate lunch. Seniors are required to leave the building by 12:45 pm and pickup their meal via curbside. City staff will continue to partner with VNA to provide pre-packaged meals Monday through Friday. Citizens are required to pre-register the normal two days in advance for a reserved meal.

Activity tables will be spaced out and only allow four people per table. There will be designated areas for cards, dominoes, and billiards. At this time, staff will not offer transportation service due to having to deliver meals; seniors can take advantage of Star Transit to ride to the center.
