Duncanville, TX - A former Duncanville High School teacher was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for having a two-year affair with a student who has Asperger’s syndrome,
Sandy Washington told the station her son was 17 years old when he told her he was having an affair with Elizabeth Ramsey, his algebra teacher.
Ramsey would write notes that said the boy was in tutoring to account for the time they spent together.
“They were having sex at school. They were having sex at her house,” Washington told Channel 11.
Washington also accused Ramsey of teaching the boy how to buy pot and add it to baked goods he gave away to make friends.
The mother said Ramsey discarded the teen “like a piece of trash” after her husband came home one day and almost caught the two together.
Last year, Ramsey was charged with sexual assault of a child and improper relationship with a student.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to the improper relationship charge Friday and began her 10-year sentence the same day, court records show.
