Duncanville City Council Election: Applications Accepted Jan 15 - Feb 14 to File for Place on Ballot

Duncanville, TX - The 2020 Duncanville City Officers Election will be held Saturday, May 2. Duncanville voters will go to the polls to elect the Mayor and Council Members to represent Districts 2 and 4 for the upcoming two-year term.
The first official day to file an application for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, January 15. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, February 14. Candidate filing packets are now available in the City Secretary’s office, which is located at Duncanville City Hall, 203 E. Wheatland Rd.
City qualifications for candidacy include: • Qualified voter • Resident of the State of Texas for one year • Resident of the City and district for six months • Hold no other public office
All registered voters in the City of Duncanville may vote for the Mayor. Residents of Districts 2 and 4 may vote for their respective candidates. Anyone not currently registered to vote has until April 2, 2020, to register in order to cast a ballot in the May 2 election. Voter registration applications may be obtained at City Hall, the Duncanville Public Library or visit www.votetexas.gov.
