Dallas County Health and Human Services program helps qualified residents with emergency air conditioners to protect against heat
Dallas County - Summer in North Texas means sweltering temperatures and potentially unsafe conditions. The heat can cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and even death. People 18 to 50 years old are most affected by heat-related illness in Dallas County.
Dallas County now provides emergency window air conditioner units to those homes that do not have a functional air conditioner unit. Priority will be given to those households with presence of vulnerable individuals such as children aged 5 years and younger, disabled persons, and elderly individuals.
If you would like to apply for the Dallas County Emergency Window Air Conditioner Program, please contact (214) 819-1848 to request assistance with emergency air conditioning or visit the DCHHS Beat The Heat website: https://www.dallascounty.org/departments/dchhs/comprehensive-energyassistance-program.php Passistance-program.php
Please note that households that have at least ONE (1) functional air conditioner unit will not be eligible for this program.
