Balch Springs, TX - Police say a man stole a Plano fire apparatus from a dealer's yard and drove around for over an hour before being stopped. Balch Springs police told WFAA that, just after 5 p.m., the man jumped behind the wheel of Plano Engine 6 and drove away.
The pumper was at the dealer getting the final touches before being delivered, officals said.
Plano Fire Rescue Engine 6 was at the dealer's facility awaiting delivery when a man drove off until being located in Dallas.
Dallas police spotted the stolen pumper about 15 miles away, in downtown Dallas, around 7 p.m. and stopped the rig.
