Hit-and-run driver kills pedestrian who was crossing I-20 in Red Bird

Oak Cliff - A pedestrian was struck and killed early Saturday while trying to cross Interstate 20 in the Red Bird area.  Deputies were notified just before 4 a.m. about a body in the roadway near Hampton Road,

said Melinda Urbina, a spokeswoman for the Dallas County Sheriff's Department.

Police joined the investigation and worked the scene for about two hours until the Dallas County medical examiner arrived about 6:30 a.m. and determined that the person had been struck by a passing vehicle.
