Oak Cliff - Dallas police are searching for a man who visited a business twice asking to see a ring worth an estimated $27,000 — then made off with it during the second visit.

The theft occurred Jan. 18 in the 100 block of West Jefferson Boulevard in north Oak Cliff. A four-minute surveillance video shows a man in a white baseball cap and dark jacket walking around the business, then being shown a ring.

When an employee asked for it back, the man ran out of the store.

The thief is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 5-7 and 140 pounds with a thin build. He has brown hair, brown eyes, a goatee, a tattoo under his right eye and a tattoo on the back of his neck. He was wearing a plaid button-up shirt and dark blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jamison Bone at 214-671-0635.
