Red Oak, TX - Red Oak Police arrested Andrew Gordon Hale, 31, after a search found several illegal drugs inside his vehicle. The White Oak resident was pulled over at 8:11 p.m. on Oct. 18 in the 500 block of S. Interstate Highway 35E.
Red Oak Police PIO Lt. Marc Schroeder stated canine Officer Dustin Bragg stopped Hale’s black Ford Focus for multiple traffic violations that took place in the 600 block of Interstate-35E.
“The suspect vehicle’s registration showed to have been expired since May of 2018 and that the vehicle showed regional traffic warrants out of the Richardson Police Department on an Andrew Gordon Hale,” Schroeder said. “Officer Bragg made contact with the driver and immediately smelled a strong marijuana odor coming from the vehicle.”
Schroeder stated Hale’s driver’s license showed to be currently suspended.
Bragg subsequently conducted a probable cause search of Hale’s vehicle based on the odor of marijuana coming from the car. Hale then admitted that he had pot in the car.
“Officer Bragg subsequently located multiple baggies individually containing either cocaine, heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine or Xanax,” Schroeder said.
Bragg collected the contraband and placed Hale under arrest. He was then transported to the Red Oak jail.
Hale was charged with the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance greater than or equal to four grams but less than 200 grams, possession of a controlled substance greater than or equal to four grams but less than 200 grams, and possession of a controlled substance greater than or equal to one gram but less than four grams.
According to records from the Wayne McCollum Detention Center Hale was booked in at 7:44 a.m. on Oct. 20 with bonds that total $80,000. As of press time Saturday, Hale remained in custody at the detention center.
