Red Oak High School Swimmers Qualify for Regionals

Red Oak, TX - On February 5 and 6, 13 ROHS swimmers qualified to compete in the Region II Swim Meet in Frisco. Nine of those 13 made it to the finals.
Listed below are the results:
The boys 200 medley relay, Javen Simmons, Benjamin Stanfill, Ashton Wester, and Tanner Easley, was seeded 16th going into finals and finished 15th with a personal best time of 2:00.25.
Ashton Wester swam the 50 freestyle and was seeded 12th going into finals and finished 11th with a personal best time of 23.24.
Benjamin Stanfill swam the 100 breaststroke and beat his prelims time by almost a full second with a 1:11.17 finishing 16th overall.
The girls 400 freestyle relay (Aubrey Gordon, Zestine Roberts, Caitlin Murphy, and Madi Spratt) was seeded 16th going into finals and finished 15th with a personal best time of 5:02.75.
The boys 400 freestyle (Ashton Wester, Benjamin Stanfill, Fabrizio Garcia, and Tanner Easley) was seeded 16th going into finals and finished 15th with a personal best time of 3:55.19.
ROHS Swim Coach, Madelyn Hooper says, “Red Oak is in one of the fastest regions in Texas, we swim against big school districts like Frisco and Prosper. The goal has always been to have personal best times at this meet, the fact that we were able to take 9 swimmers into Finals is an impressive feat, and I am very proud of them.”
