Red Oak, TX - This award was established in 2002 and is designed to honor outstanding public schools and to thank them for their dedication and commitment.
Through this program, HEB seeks to pay tribute to educators who go the extra mile every day to serve students and their communities and who inspire others to do the same.
“We are extremely honored to have been selected as one of 25 districts across the state to receive the Semi-Finalist Award,” stated ROISD superintendent Dr. Mike Goddard. “The HEB Excellence in Education Awards are the state pinnacle of recognition for teachers, administrators, school boards, districts and early childhood centers. The Red Oak ISD family should be very proud of the award and their district.”
For school districts, the honor is designed to recognize those who are excelling based on the commitment to student achievement through innovative programs, parent and community involvement, as well as, professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.
The district applied last fall with narrative and evidentiary support that included the ROISD educational philosophy and alignment with its vision, mission, and goals, as well as leadership style, curriculum development, structures for student success, innovation, financial priorities, and community engagement.
“We are making amazing strides in the education of our students and development of the district as a model of excellence for the state and beyond,” Goddard stated in a press release. “Red Oak ISD staff, parents, and the community are vital to the growth and success of our students, and we thank all our stakeholders for their involvement and collaboration to make us better every day.”
ROISD thanked HEB for their support of Texas public schools.
