Waxahachie, TX - Projects that seems to keep growing but don’t have time to complete them? A new business in Waxahachie, Sometimes Spouse, might be the solution residents are looking for.
Sometimes Spouse provides handyman and household cleaning services to make the lives of its customers a little easier and lighten the load placed upon them.
“There are just lots of people that are moving out here and lots of people that need help. We have an older demographic here and they need help. The single mom’s need help. The dad’s that are working five days a week and they need to spend some time with their family,” owner Todd Green said. “They are like ‘hey can you guys come over and knock out this list.’ I’ll send a guy over there for two hours and he will knock out this, this and this. That frees up some time for the guy that wants to spend time with his family and those kinds of things.”
Green said Sometimes Spouse provides both light cleaning and deep cleaning services. Some of the cleaning services include dusting, mopping, skinks scrubbed, bathtub or shower tiles cleaned and vacuuming,
“We do all sorts of house cleaning. We do light cleanings; deep cleaning and lots of make ready’s and things for relators when they are getting ready to sell a home,” Green said. “We can do a one time deep clean. We can deep clean followed up by a light clean in a couple of weeks. A deep clean is a more intense clean. It is really getting in there from top to bottom (cleaning) ceiling fans, shelving, baseboards, bathtubs and all that stuff. Light cleaning is more of a light dusting, vacuuming and things like that.”
Customers who want to have an item cleaned that is not listed on Sometimes Spouse’s list of designated items or areas of the home can make a request when setting up an appointment for a service call, Green said. If they agreed, an extra fee for this service would be charged. The cleaning service starts at $99. Sometimes Spouse also provides weekly, monthly and quarterly cleanings for customer’s homes.
The second part of the Sometimes Spouse’s business is the handyman service it provides to customers. Some of these services include interior and exterior house painting, drywall repairs, flooring, fencing, lawn services, electrical and plumbing work. The cost for handyman service is based upon the job, the type of work is involved, labor and what materials are needed to complete the project.
Sometimes Spouse employees and contractors are thoroughly vetted before they go out make contact with a customer on a job, Green said.
“Everybody is background checked, criminal recorded checked and drug tested. Everybody is bonded. We are all insured and bonded. That is a huge deal. I completely understand people coming into people’s homes. We want to make it as comfortable as possible,” he said. “We are talking about being in people’s homes and they have to feel safe. If I have to be on site or my assistant has to be on site, that is what we will do.”
With the contractors they use, Green said he checks references, talks with them about their previous experience and checks previous work. The cleaners go through a trial run of cleaning a house, he said. Once the house is clean, Green or his assistant inspects their work to see if it is up to the Sometimes Spouse’s standards.
Customers can expect noting but the best from the people who come out to work at their home and can feel relaxed knowing that the job is going to be done right, Green said.
“You know from the workers themselves they can expect a good job. Personalized service. If there is an issue somewhere I am going to be there. I want to know if there is an issue so I can fix it,” Green said. “I want the customers to be happy. That is it. I want the customers to be happy and free up some time for them so they can go to something for themselves their children or their family. That is what I want is for people not to have to worry about this because it is being taken care of.”
Sometimes Spouse offers free estimates prior to any work being done. The staff can be reached at 972-402-5449 to set up an appointment. More information about the services it provides can be found on its website at www.sometimesspouse.com. Sometimes Spouse operates 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.
